Concourse-Central Park West-6th Avenue-West End Express<Pacific St-Atlantic Av
The upper-level portion of the connecting passageway that connects the peviously named Pacific Street Station to the rest of the Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center Complex (including connections to the LIRR) begins right on the Flatbush/New Lots-bound, IRT 2,3 local platform. There is a short ramp down from the 2,3 platform (where the upper landing of the elevator up from the lower mezzanine is as well). As well as the super-wide staircase up from where the passageway continues beneath the IRT Station. This staircase comes up directly underneath what was an original IRT station head house built in 1905 and whose shell has been kept at street level to provide a natural skylight down to the station's passageways but hasn't been used as a station entrance in many years.
The passageway is quite short before the first evidence of the 4th Avenue Line's Pacific Street platforms is reached. A pair of elevators that lead down to each of the island platforms. The mezzanine level curves a bit to be a mezzanine level directly above the 4th Avenue Line platforms, with three pairs of staircases down to each platform, a section that really isn't very long (maybe two to three car lengths), and ends at a bank of turnstiles. A street elevator (Elevator access into the complex is also avalible through the Atlantic Terminal LIRR Station) and extra wide staircase leads up to the NE corner of Pacific Street & 4th Avenue, a street blulb out taking up the parking lane provides space for the elevator and wider staircase on the sidewalk. There is also a regular streetstair to the NW corner. There is also a pair of open to the public (except midnight to 5 AM) restrooms along the mezzanine area within fare control.
The mezzanine had normal looking pillars until between 2013 when they were encased in concrete. This makes the mezzanine feel a little crowded with so many large columns.
