Lexington Market is the closet station to the Baltimore Metro SubwayLink with the same namesake station on the subway just one block away. The station’s two tracks are as close to street-running as any station in downtown Baltimore. There is one narrow Travel Lane for Howard Street running northbound between the two station tracks and platforms that are just the sidewalk without even a tactile warning strip. The platforms almost feel offset (but that’s only because as of 2024 Baltimore is basically exclusively running one car trains because their fleet is falling apart) with the mini-high AdA ramp along the sidewalk just north of Lexington Street for southbound trains, and just south of Saratoga Street for northbound trains. The northbound platform even crosses over Clay Street directly in the middle of the platform.
Passenger amenities when I visited in 2009 consisted of a blue with a flat roof shelter just beyond the mini-high ADA ramp. These shelters had little orange, very hostile movable seats. When I visited in 2024 these former distinctive Metro shelters had been replaced by conventional double length black modern shelters with glass roofs covering benches that look more like a glorified bus stop in my opinion.
