Florence is a double-tracked River LINE station with a single island platform located just before a section of single-track line just north of the station, with the switches clearly visible just beyond the platforms. There is an adjacent third freight only track that leads to some freight sidings and the Conrail Florence Industrial Track. The station’s island platform has its main entrance at its southern end leading down to the middle of the grade-crossing with John Galt Way.
The station has parking lots on either side of the tracks. The main parking lot with 258 spaces is on the east side of the tracks. It contains a secondary platform entrance is at the northern end of the platform where a pedestrian crossing leads across the Trenton-bound track only to the middle of this parking lot. This main parking lot has its vehicular entrance from its southwestern end, where it connects with the small, separate bus loop that leads up to bus stops across from the southern end of the platform. This bus loop is used by shuttles that connect to nearby industrial employers, including a nearby Amazon distribution center. The 24 hour nature of Amazon made this station quite busy even on the Labor Day Holiday.
There is a secondary, larger 345 space parking lot located along the west side of the tracks. This parking lot is only accessible by walking around and using the sidewalk of John Galt Way to reach the station.
