Bordentown is a small-town intermediate River LINE Station. The stop consists of a single side platform for the single-track line located just north of the overpass for the bridge over Park Street. This platform has a single entrance at the southern end of the platform via a walkway that crosses over Park Street alongside the track. This leads to a short path away from the track past bike racks, before leading to the northwest corner of the station’s 189 space Park & Ride lot.
This park & Ride lot, along with the entire station has a single entrance from Park Street at its northeast corner, there are sidewalks down to park street along the northern side of the parking lot that do connect with the surrounding sidewalk network. A sign in the parking lot has a little visual encouraging passengers to visit Historic Bordentown City — Founded 1682 — "A little city with a lot of charm!"
The station is located on what would be the northern junction of a former wye where the Bordentown Secondary (the current mainline of the River LINE) joined up with the Robbinsville Industrial Track. This industrial track is still in service for freight trains, but now only joins the River LINE track heading south. The remains of the former wye track are visible from the steelwork of the former bridge across Park Street between the pedestrian bridge and parking lot (with the steel looking like it is entering the parking lot).
Finally, the station has a recently installed plaque on a signpost “Honoring the Life of Bordentown Hero Peter “Pete” R. Reed,” who serviced two tours in Afghanistan from 2007 to 2011 in the Marine Corps, before becoming a humanitarian and conducting medical training around the globe. He was killed by a Russian misstyle while treating wounded Ukrainian Civilians in February 2023.
