Atco is an Atlantic City Line Station with no sidewalk access. It consists of a single side high-level platform that can accommodate 3 cars along an embankment. This platform contains two red shelters for waiting passengers, the eastern one containing one TVM and a bench, the western one just a bench. There are also 4 exposed benches along the platform. When I visited over Labor Day Weekend 2024, the fence at the one end of the platform was missing.
To leave the platform, a staircase containing 24 steps or a ramp with switchbacks leads off the platform to the northern side of the station's large 189 space park and ride lot. At the entrance to the ramp and staircase is the bus stop of NJT Bus Route 554 that provides local service along the Atlantic City Line between Atlantic City and Lindenwald, including stopping at every station. There is a sign here that looks hand painted and says “Welcome to Waterford Township and NJ Transit, Ride the train, It is Fast, Safe, Comfortable, and Friendly to the Environment - Waterford Township Environmental Commission.”
The station's parking lot has a single entrance to Haines Blvd which provides access to the Northbound Lanes of Highway 73 just west of the station and to Route 30 a few blocks away in the opposite direction as an oddly formatted highway style sign says by the station's entrance. This sign is white text on a brown background.
