Laraway Road (in the village of New Lenox, south on the suburban fringe of the namesake New Lenox Station Rock Island Line) opened on October 9, 2006 as an infill station on the extension of the Metra SouthWest Service to Manhattan that opened on January 30, 2006. The station recieves extremely minimal service with two rush hour peak direction trips during weekdays, and the 3 Southwest Service trips which operate on Saturdays.
The station consists of a single side platform on the east side of the line which has a single track but has a second siding track here. The station is just north of the Laraway Road grade-crossing, all access to the station is through a 300 space parking lot (with room to expand) that curves around (passed not-completed streets waiting for future greenfield development) and provides access to Laraway Road at Calistoga Drive opposite a modern strip mall commercial development. For passengers there is a small brick station house with a single wooden bench and restrooms.
