Manhattan is the terminus of the Metra SouthWest Service, and on a single-track 11 mile extension from Orland Park which opened on January 30, 2006. The station recieves very limited service with as of the February 5, 2018 service changes, just two rush-hour round-trips to and from Manhattan, most other service terminates at Orland Park-179 Street, before this service reduction there was an early PM rush hour round-trip. This is in addition to the 3 round-trip Saturday trains on the SouthWest Service that run the full length of the line.
The station consists of a single side platform for the single-track line just south of the center of the village of Mnahattan. The tracks extend south of the station to a train yard. The platform has a very small waiting shelter (opened most of the time) with restrooms and a single bench. This waiting room leads out to a small station parking lot, with a sidewalk marked as a bike path, which is a spur of the Wauponsee Glacial Trail (leading to south to the Village of Custer Park and north to Joliet).
