Montrose is a station in median of the Kennedy Expressway in the middle of I-90/94 just before these two roads spilt with I-94 leaving and continuing north as the Edens Expressway. The stop has one island platform that has a modern white canopy that has a translucent bubble room. There is one exit at the SW-end of the platform, here there are the turnstiles on the platform level with plexiglass walls that lead to first a staircase and an up escalator to the north side of Montrose Avenue that reach the street in a little white enclosure. A walkway continues beneath Montroses Avenue overpass of the wide expressway (with low fences) between the tracks before reaching a staircase and up escalator to the south side of Montrose Avenue in a similar white and plexiglass wall building except this one also has glass doors.
