Middletown is an intermediate station alongside the ATSF tracks used by Coaster and Amtrak opened on June 15, 1996. The station has two side platforms each with two blue simple bus stop style shelters that begin at the grade crossing of Palm Street and extend north.
From May 21, 2012 to November 24, 2011 the station was closed for retrofitting for the S70 low-floor cars. The Green Line took over operations on September 2, 2012
