Concourse-Central Park West-6th Avenue-West End Express<25 Avenue
25 Avenue is a 'local' BMT West End Station with two side platforms for the three-track line although no express trains have ever really been regularly run on the line. The station on my early visits had corrugated cream style windscreens but was renovated (along with the rest of the West end Line) under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, and today has cream-colored windscreens with green trim. The canopy extends east down the platform a good way, and the extreme ends of the platforms have the high chain mesh fence treatment. The platforms have small 25 Av signs (in the older Akzidenz-Grotesk) on the pillars, that were not replaced during the station renovations.
The stop has a single exit towards the northern end of the station where a single street stair leads down to a station house nestled beneath the tracks. This is where the turnstiles are. This leads out to staircases at all four corners of the intersection of 25 Avenue and 86 Street.
