Yesterday, I road the inaugural Amtrak train to stop in Northampton and Greenfield on my Last Train via Palmer, First train via the Knowlege Corridor Trip I ran off the train onto crowded platforms in Northampton and Greenfield. Today I made starter station pages. Making proper visits to the stations is on my list on my next trip alone to Vermont.
- Greenfield–(10 Photos)
- Northampton, MA–(12 Photos)
Other station addition highlights from the trip include remaking Amherst–(7 Photos) into a station without service page and adding various last and first runs to the Springfield–(49 Photos) Section. It’s definitely now the most photographed station on the SubwayNut. I added a few photos to Brattleboro–(16 Photos), from a second stop there by car a couple years ago and one more out the train window of the sign replacement.
I’ll end this post with a discussion of the new diamond vision-like departures board now installed in New Haven-Union Station, it’s absurdly brigh, and replaced the old solari board (also included below taken in 2013 for comparision). The station also now has these obnoxious automated announcements that repeat themselves too much.
Enjoy!
