D and F Trains Where They Shouldn’t Be, I’ve Got Quite an Assortment

During the past month on multiple occasions I found D and F trains in unusual places. Most were due to FastTracks construction along 6th Avenue, I made a few stops on my way home from a late night in Brooklyn, but I also found the F in two other places unscheduled at other times during the past month:

  • An F train at Pacific Street(6 Photos), I rode it up the West End, Running Express, there was something going on the Culver Line so trains there were running at slower speeds diverted some F trains to the West End-
  • An F train stopped at Canal Street, it was during rush hour and no announcements were given for why an F train was sent via the Cranberry Street Tunnel
  • During Fast Tracks the D train ran in two sections, here is the Bronx-bound section terminating at 2nd Avenue(3 Photos)
  • The Brooklyn D section was terminating on the Lower Level at West 4th Street(4 Photos), all other trains were on the upper level
  • The D and the F train then ran local up 8th Avenue, stopping at 14 Street/8 Avenue(5 Photos) and 42 St-PABT(2 Photos)

A Bonus:
I had to head out to Williamsburg on the L train over the past month. Waiting for my L train to leave at 8th Avenue(9 Photos) this old TH tile of the original IND tiling on the platform walls caught my eye. I had my camera at the ready on my way home that evening to snap a photo of this old tiling revealed

Enjoy!
