The Rerouted CTA Red Line Down the Southside Elevated with the Green Line

I’ve been working on a few big projects over the past few weeks and keep not getting any of them finished enough to warrant an actual update. I also haven’t gone anywhere in the past week and a half, after an uneventful not transit based car ride driving my grandmother back from our Summer House in Maine.

I did though finally get my photos up from my July 4 ride in Chicago down the South Side Elevated as service was shared between the Red and Green Lines with the Red Line’s relocation because the Dan Ryan Line is closed for reconstruction. I got photos of many of the stations, also taking advantage of the much more frequent service to revisit all four stations on both branches beneath 63 Street that have service every 15 minutes or worse during normal times when the only option is the Green Line. More importantly I got photos of the temporary signage all the stations were waring with red stickers over normal green ones replacing or supplementing the Green Line.
