23 Street has two side platforms as a local stop and was renovated in the 1990. Most of the walls have their original dual-contracts era mosaics with brown as the dominating color. Name tablets spell out 23 Street and their little 23s in the frieze. The ends of the platforms get narrower and the brown columns end. The columns have the older style larger font 23s on them, no reference to street.
Each platform has a single exit in the middle where on the uptown side with the still staffed token booth up to a steetstair up to the NE and SE corners of 23 Streeet and 7 Avenue. The downtown platform has unstaffed turnstiles and streetsairs up to the NW and SW corners to 23 Street and 7 Avenue.
