Exchange Place is a HBLR station in downtown Jersey City, with the connections to PATH at the station of the same name. The station served as the original northern terminus of the line when it opened on April 22, 2000. The station's platform layout is a bit unusual. The tracks are located on the west side of Hudson Street, in there own ROW between street crossings of Montgomery and York Streets. The main platform is an island platform between the tracks with two canopies instead of just one like most platforms. There is also a side platform that northbound trains use (they open doors on both sides) that is basically the sidewalk rising up to HBLR's mini-high level, it has HBLR type lampposts on it but no canopied structures except for one at its northern end with TVMs in it closest to the PATH Station. As of 2013 the TVMs in here have been removed. The end of Montgomery Street was a bus loop with a bunch of HBLR style shelters to serve the buses. Some had a TVMs inside them to buy bus tickets. This TVM was removed on or about November 7, 2011. This plaza that contains the two PATH station entrances was closed to bus traffic by 2007 (I don't ever remember buses stopping at the intended bus loop) and buses now stop across the street, not in the nice shelters built for them during the opening of the HBLR.
