La Fox is the one intermediate stop on the 8.5 mile extension to Elburn that opened on January 23, 2006. The station consists of a side platform on the south side of the 3 track main line where inbound trains stop, since trains begin left-hand running via switches between here and Geneva, and a bare island platform serving the two other tracks. The island platform is connected to the rest of the world via an enclosed ramp at the eastern end of the platform. This leads down to a tunnel out to the parking lot which is at a lower grade than the platforms. A covered ramp, with staircases for shortcuts leads off the side platform near the tunnel portal. There is also brick station house (just a small enclosed waiting room) with a staircase down to the street at the middle of the side platform.
The tunnel and staircases lead down to the northern side of a 300 space parking lot in the some fields with plenty of vacant land to expand into. An access road leads to Bunker Road that provides all legal access to the station (near the intersection of Keslinger Road). A short ways east of the station (beyond a some buildings owned by the La Fox Corporation) is the grade-crossing of La Fox Road and the La Fox U.S. Post office along the rail line.
