River Grove is a stop on both the Milwaukee West Line and the North Central Service, just before the North Central Service curves off the Milwaukee West Line to head north. East of here, heading towards Chicago, all North Central Service Trains run express to Union Station, only stopping at Western Avenue
The station itself has 2 platforms for the three track line. The north, outbound track is a side platform, with a very narrow island platform for the other two tracks. These platforms begin at the Thatcher Avenue grade-crossing and run west. Arnold Street runs along side the southern side of the tracks. The Outbound platform contains the stations cream-colored brick station house with a tall gabled red roof and green trim. River Grove is written in Gold lettering along the roof line. This depot is along the stations main 69 space north parking lot which is only for monthly pass holders. Daily parking is in spaces along Arnold Street.
