Mannheim is a limited service Milwaukee West Line Station. Trains stop at the station as a flag stop during rush hours only, with 7 Chicago-bound trains (4 in the AM peak, 3 in the PM peak) and 5 Elign-bound (3 in the AM Peak, 2 in the PM peak) trains per day. The station is located in a small residential neighborhood just east of the Mannheim Road bridge across the rail line. West of the station is a large freight yard. Northwest of the station on a corner near O'Hare Airport is an industrial area that could provide some ridership to the station (and a reason why stopping trains aren't peak direction only).
The station consists of a tiny gravel parking area (if it can be called a parking lot) there is a sign that says Metra Commuter Parking. This leads up to (no paved path with grass needing to be crossed except at the platforms eastern end) a short two car long platform on the north side of the freight yard. This platform contains a single white with brown trim shelter structure with a schedule posted inside but no seating of any kind. A pedestrian grade-crossing leads across the two mainline tracks to an identically short parallel platform of asphalt that is bare except for some station signs.
