Burrard is one of two underground SkyTrain Expo Line Stations and are in a former tall but single tracked railroad tunnel. This gives the two stations inside it a stacked design with Eastbound trains beneath Westbound ones, like Granville. Access to this station is via a long single three escalator that leads down from a sicken plaza with a glass canopy just beneath the street with access to the basement of buildings and a main entrance (with an up escalator and wide staircase) to the north corner of Melville and Burrard Street. This set of escalators leads to a wide intermediate landing where a passageway leads to the Waterfront-bound trains and two separate wide staircases (one has an up escalator) down to the eastbound level on separate sides of each other.
There is also a single elevator connecting everything. This elevator uniquely has four landings, two lower ones for the platforms. An intermediate landing at Concourse level, where a regular door acts as the fare gate, passengers have to tap their Compass Card or Ticket to open or close this door. And a small seperate elevator fare control area with proper faregates at street level near the main entrance, who's faregates are inside the sunken plaza.
