The Terminal 3 station is very similar to the other two domestic terminal stations. It has a single island platform, located alongside the domestic garage across from the terminal. From open air island platform two elevators, one at each end of the platform, along with a staircase combined with two escalators lead down to a lower mezzanine level.

This mezzanine level provides access to the domestic parking garage on one side and on the opposite side to a pedestrian Bridge. This pedestrian bridge leads into the uppermost story of the oldest SFO terminal, which is United Airline’s main hub at the airport, Terminal 3.

Terminal 3 opened in 1979 and has been less renovated than other terminals. This means that passengers arrive at two sets of two elevators on Level 3 of the terminal. These lead down to Level 2 for departures, Level 1 to arrivals, and Level G that contains the original tunnel into the Domestic Parking Garage (only the elevators o nthe right leads their).

There are also stairs and escalators beyond these elevators down into the terminal, they arrive at the departures level in one of those awkward areas of airports that were designed before modern security requirements. This area allows a view into the secure area through the top of tall partitions. There is an exit (next to the within security area escalators down to baggage claim) right at these escalators, although reaching the security checkpoint requires doubling-back around these escalators/staircases.
