International Terminal G is one of two AirTrain stations servicing the International Terminal, this one is above the G Concourse, which is primarily used by Star Alliance carriers due to its proximity and airside connection to United Airlines Terminal 3 hub for domestic connections. This is because there is no airside connection between the Concourse A and G stations, some maps of AirTrain show that it’s a 5 minute walk between this station and the International A station. This station is located directly on the upper level within the International Terminal. A security checkpoint is located directly under the station. The stop also provides easy (but not quite as easy as the Garage A/BART station) to the BART station with one of its two entrances and just south of the station at one end of the terminal building, on the same level as departures. There is a sign for BART at one end of the station platform, but all maps and further information signs say to go one stop south to the Garage A station, located above the southern end of the long 10 car train BART station platforms for a slightly shorter and more initiative connection to BART.

The station contains one island platform for the line with two guideways. Exits from the platform consists of an elevator and staircase down to Departures and Ticketing towards the northern end (just beyond some automatic doors). Towards the southern end of the platform is another bank of escalators/staircases and beyond the southern end of the platform is a bank of two elevators. These have four landings:
·Level 4: The AirTrain station (signed as AirTrain to Rental Cars and Grand Hyatt at SFO)
·Level 3: Departures and BART
·Level 2: the Arrivals Lobby including Baggage Claim and walkway to Garage G (that includes the next AirTrain station)
·Level 1: Bus Courtyard G
