Pacific Fleet is an original San Diego Trolley Station and serves the Navel Base of San Diego and is mostly surrounded by restricted access areas. The station has the required two side ground-level platforms that begin at the southeast end of the 32 Street grade crossing. The San Diego-bound platform has the usual wide, brown canopy structure and the San Ysidro-bound platform has just two red bus shelters. Most access to the station is from the grade-crossing, except there is a small walkway on the San Diego-bound platform that leads to a gate and into the Navy Base.
From October 2, 2013 through August 2014, the station was completely rebuilt under the trolley renewal project to have 6 inch high platforms replacing the former ones at ground-level. The stop remained open with a temporary platform in use during construction. The new station has the standard renewed Blue Line station layout, with modern 6 inch high platforms. The track area is now normal ballast with 4 pedestrian crossings, 2 at each end of the platform that are step free, and two in the middle of the platform. Two larger cream-colored canopy structures on each platform provide more shade than the previous canopies. All Photos 1-17 taken on 22 March, 2011; 18: 28 December, 2019
