Grossmont Transit Center is the southernmost stop on the northern alignment shared by the Orange and Green Lines. The station opened for what was then just the Orange Line (called the East Line) in June 1989, it was joined by the Green Line on July 8, 2005. The station has the standard two platforms with the overpass of Grossmont Center Drive crossing above the middle of the station. It has 220 parking spaces according to the but I don't know where those spaces actually would be. It mainly serves a dense and modern transit oriented development across Bus or Trolley Court (labeled by Google) from the station. The stop calls itself a transit center but there only appear to be two connecting bus lines. When I visited in March 2011 the area around the stop was undergoing construction with the widening of the overpass, and lacked any form of shelter except by waiting beneath the overpass. It also appears that an elevator was being built to connect the sidewalk of the overpass to the platforms below.Amaya Drive (La Mesa) has the standard two side platform configuration. The station has a single, standard 1980s brown brick shelter along the San Diego-bound platform and along this platform as well is a 236 space parking lot that leads out to Amaya Drive for all access as well as into a Hosing Development that surrounds the station's parking lot.
