Arnele Avenue has the standard two side platforms and is the first stop on an extension to Santee that opened on August 26, 1995. The platforms all have red fencing and red lampposts. Each platform has two red bus stop like canopies for covering for waiting passengers. The station is along the west side of Marshall Avenue and its southern end is where Arelle Avenue ends at a grade crossing over to an alley which includes the station's small 65 space park and ride lot off of it. The northern portion ends before the next grade crossing, Petree Street, but a freight spur diverges before this crossing to enter a nearby industrial area across Marshall Avenue.
For service, the station has been the terminus of the Orange Line since April 29, 2018, the same day that the new Courthouse Station platform for terminating Orange Line trains opened in Downtown San Diego. The Orange Line had previously served the station as the only service from the station's opening in 1995 until the Green Line opened in 2005, and has an intermediate stop shared with the Green Line from 2005 until 2012 when all Orange line trains ran to Gillespie Field (one stop north). Only Green Line trains serviced the station between 2012 and 2018 when all Orange Line service terminated one stop south at El Cajon Transit Center
