Westport is the most northern of a three-stop extension, the original first south of Downtown Baltimore, that opened on August 20, 1992. The station consists of two side platforms for the two-track line located just above (and on top of a retaining wall) from Kloman Street parallel and just below the tracks to the east. There are no exits directly down to Kloman Street, this street is alongside a railroad track and a vacant lot. The station has a single entrance at the northern end of the platforms. Here a wide pedestrian plaza leads between low-rise but dense residential houses to the T-intersection of Cedley Street and Kent Street.
For amenities, the northbound platform has two, the southbound platform one, small black structure covering a bench with a glass windscreen on two sides.
