Well this upload I didn’t quite finish before I left for my trip to Maine and today with less transit news to follow managed to motivate myself to finish it, It is of three stops on 49-50 Street all within a one full-length crosstown block radius. All three have similarities: Entrances hard to find in existing buildings, no free crossovers or crossunders (although the uptown side of 50 Street and 8 Avenue and downtown side of Broadway are connected again by an underground tunnel that has recently reopened), The different directions at 50 Street and 8 Avenue are so different I had to give them and two with elevators maintained by developers that gave ADA access to just one side of each station. Here are the 4 new sections from east to west:
- 49 Street (and 7 Avenue BMT)–(page rebuilt with 49 photos)
- 50 Street (and Broadway IRT)–(page rebuilt with 27 new photos and 4 of the artwork)
- 50 Street (IND 8 Avenue), Uptown Side–(31 photos)
- 50 Street (IND 8 Avenue), Downtown Side-(48 photos of the station and 5 of the artwork)
Well here they are enjoy! The next update I’m presently working on I’m really excited about but it is large (and falls in logical order as the next stop I should finish, it should be easy to guess) so don’t except any new postings for the next few days as I finish it.
