One tiny transit system in New York City, I’ve neglected for far too long is PATH, the Port Authority Trans Hudson. It’s one of the oldest transit lines in operation based around two sets of 100 year old tubes beneath the Hudson River. What’s more amazing, except for station rebuildings, and the realignment of trains into Newark, The present network is exactly the same as when it was completed, named the Hudson & Manhattan Railroad in 1911. The first section opened in 1908. The name has changed midway through its history from the Hudson & Manhattan Railroad (H&M) to Port Authority Trans-Hudson (PATH) but no extensions have ever been built (except for 3 station abandonments).
