Hollywood/NE 42rd Ave Transit Center is a MAX station along the private right of way along the the north side of I-84. The station has a single island platform with two metal canopies on them with green roofs and supports typical of the first MAX line. There are little blue 'Hollywood' signs on the side of the roofs that are only visible from the freeway or surrounding streets. The only exit from the station is via a staircase or elevator (surrounded by bare concrete) up to a pedestrian bridge. This bridge connects to a ramp and staircase down at its northern end to a bus loop home of three bus lines just off of Halsey Street. The bridge continues south over the highway to a ramp and staircase down to Senate Street and 42nd Avenue in a residential community. The area where the staircase/elevator meets the bridge is the only place where TVMs are making the platform a fare paid zone
