West Redding is an intermediate stop on the Danbury Branch. The biggest question for the station is whether it's name is West Redding as all the signage says in the station or Redding what the time table and MNR map says The station is fairly inaccessible, all three means of egress (two staircases and a wheelchair ramp) from the platform lead directly to a large parking lot that has a single exit via a driveway to Long Ridge Road. There is no sidewalk along the station's access road.
Like many of the stations on this branch it feels like the platform is quite new, probably replacing a dilapidated low-level platform. This high-level platformed opened in 1999. The station has a single side platform for the one track line. This platform has a quite modern canopy with a metal frame but wooden roof.
There is a waiting area on the platform that does have a bit of the bus station look with glass walls and black beams between them but has a wooden bench inside of it and is in excellent shape. There are little ADA platform signs along some of the platform columns, as well as a tactile warning strip.
