Wall-Side, 2002,
Stone, tile, and fiberglass installation throughout station complex
By Vito Acconci (Acconci Studio)

The goal of this arts installation was to dissociate the station walls to allow the curious to see the stone and steel behind them. Various parts of the station are designed to look like an archeology site with certain station features pushed and pulled and in locations where they shouldn’t normally be, like half a name tablet by the floor and the remaining half at ceiling level. This includes unique benches on the platform and even unique seating with station walls protruding into the sidewalk above by two of the station entrances and seats built into them.
