Lawrence is an intermediate stop on the Red Line with a single island platform for local trains and Purple Line trains bypassing the station on the two outside express tracks. The platform has a wooden surface and lacks blue tactile warning strips. There is a canopy that runs for about half the length of this platform with simple white supports holding it up. There is a single staircase just south of the middle of the platform that leads down to a chain link fare control area with a cashiers booth across from three turnstiles that lead to an opening in the chain link fence on the northside of Lawrence Avenue. The stop did have a station house built in 1923 that was destroyed in 1995 caused by a rebuilding of the elevated structure above.
