Granville is a single island platform local stop North Shore Main Line Station that serves the middle two tracks of the 4 track line with Purple Line trains bypassing on the outside tracks. The station was renovated in 1980 and looks like many stations from that time period. The platform is made of concrete with the blue tactile warning strips. The entire platform is covered by an oversized canopy held up by simple white I-beams that extend over to the centerline of the express tracks. The one station exit is at the northern end of the platform. Here a glass windscreen is along one side of the platform, and on this side is where the up escalator followed by a staircase and then an elevator at the extreme southern end that lead down to the station house. This station house has concrete pillars running through it that hold up the elevated viaduct. The walls of the station house have off-white tiles and bike parking within fare control. There are then turnstiles and glass doors out to the southern sidewalk of Granville Avenue. This 1980 renovation apparently wasn't enough and the stop was closed for a "Life Extension Renovation" from June 1 to July 13, 2012 (after these photos were taken).
