Garfield is a stop located in the median of the Dan Ryan Expressway. It has the standard single completely canopied island platform. There is a single exit at the extreme southern end of the platform where a narrow up escalator/staircase leads up to the glass walled station house with the turnstiles before leading out to the northside and northern roadway of Garfield Blvd which has a wide central median (normally grass) and each direction has its own overpass over the Dan Ryan. The stops for the westbound 55 and 59 routes are right here. To reach the eastbound routes or cross Garfield Blvd there is a pedestrian traffic light across both of the roadways. They are connected by a little pedestrians only overpass above the train tracks. This overpass has a little canopy (but it doesn't stretch over the roadways themselves) This leads to the eastbound bus stop on the south side of the street.
