Berwyn is an unrenovated Red Line station on the North Side Embankment with a narrow single wooden island platform that even lacks blue tactile warning strips. There is a simple canopy with supports painted white with original curved supports that covers three-quarters of the platform except for about two car lengths at the southern end. In the middle of the canopy there are two staircases (surrounded by modern mesh) with red railings that lead down to an intermediate landing before doors into the station house beneath the railway embankment with concrete walls. Inside the station house are three turnstiles across from an original 1920s white cashiers booth across from three modern turnstiles into the transit system. It then leads out two three wooden green doors between two white Prairie School columns within brick storefronts.
