91st Street/Chesterfield is a simple Metra flag stop (on hourly or better off-peak trains) with a small one car long wooden-high level island platform with a single black white domed bus shelter for waiting passengers. This platform is in between the middle two tracks of the four track electrified Metra Line with two additional freight and Amtrak tracks to the east. There are additional siding tracks and a lead track into a factory in the vicinity of 91st Street. To leave the platform, all passengers must pass through a small wooden hunt at the southern end of the platform with doors on both ends. Uniquely, this entrance house has a small window next to the door at each end. Just a Metra Passenger Assistance and Information phone (in a silver enclosure that looks like a payphone and has a TTY keyboard) is inside. From here a staircase leads down to a short low-level platform area (with small wooden boarding areas for trains on the outside tracks) before leading to tall a grey portal with two doorways surrounds the one staircase off the platform down to an area setback from the north sidewalk of 91st Street's underpass between Dauphin Avenue and Drexel Avenue.
