Escondido Avenue/ Vista, (not to be confused with the Escondido Transit Center terminus) is located on a curve on the central section of two track running with two side platforms. The stop has had issues with gaps between the train and the platform to the extent that the Escondido-bound platform didn't open until September 16, 2008, and when I visited this platform had its rear two, unused gap-fillers were in the raised position. Each platform has the standard 3 blue canopies and their western ends is the grade-crossing with Civic Center Drive (renamed in 2010 from Escondido Avenue), there is another pedestrian crossing at the opposite end. The Oceanside-bound platform has a tall white fence separating it from the parking lot of a strip mall. The Escondido-bound platform has an about 100 space park & ride lot running up to Phillips Street. There is also a bus stop in this lot.
