Arcadia is the first stop on the 6 stop, 11.5 mile Gold Line Foothill Extension Phase 2A that opened on March 5, 2016 and extended service east to Azusa.

The Arcadia Station consists of a single island platform for the two-track light rail line that begin at a long ramp up from the grade-crossing of First Avenue and Santa Clara Street (the tracks cross directly through the middle of this intersection at a 45 degree angle) and run west. This single platform has two platform canopies that cover more than three-quarters of the platform.

Just south of the platform is the Arcadia Transit Plaza, this leads to the pedestrian entrance to the station's 270 space, 2 story parking garage, with an additional 30 spaces in a parking lot by the vehicular entrance to parking garage along from St. Joseph Street on the northern side of the garage. The main transfer point for the 3 route, 50 cents per ride, Arcadia Transit system is on First Avenue just north of the Gold Line Station.

Artwork: Arcadian Zephyr by Michael Davis and includes a sculpture at the platform entrance, stained glass over the fare machines and additional panels along the ramp up to the platform.
