Galesburg, IL is an Amtrak Station in Western Illinois. It has a decent amount of service with four daily trains per day to and from Cicago, although the Chicago-bound passengers can't ride the Zephyr eastbound to Chicago, it's discharge only between Galesburg and Chicago. The station has an unusual platform layout that unfornchately means only one train can platform there at a time. There is a modern concrete side platform at the six inch height, with a small level crossing area over to the next platform that allows a middle track to platform as well although two trains can't stop at the same time. The station is fully staffed with an old fashioned looking station house as well as the small Galesburg Railroad Museum that has it's own building and some old Burlington Route Cars parked viewable from the platform. Most prominately displayed is an old CB&Q Locomotive #3006, as well as three other passenger rail cars.
