NJPAC/Center Street is the first stop on the Newark Light Rail after it leaves the downtown subway tunnel from Penn Station. The tunnel portal is just across Center Street. The station is on it's own private ground level Right of Way adjacent to McCarter Highway. The Penn Station-bound platform is alongside the plaza of the NJPAC-New Jersey Performing Arts Center. The Broad Street-bound platform is on the avenue side of the tracks and has a glass divider protecting passengers from the highway. The canopies towards the center of the platforms have a simplistic design.
