Valley Road is the one non-ADA compliant station on the Mattapan High Speed Line because it is located along the portion of the line that follows the valley formed by a creek and is significantly below the level of the nearby streets requiring a decent staircase down the hill for access. The stop has the standard two small side platforms (with tactile warning strips), the inbound with a small modern canopy, the outbound exposed with just a sign and trashcan. Access is via the staircase which descends to a pedestrian crossing in the middle of the platforms. To reach the staircase a MBTA maintained (it has black lampposts just like the station) path must be used from Eliot Street (between Valley Road and Rock View Road), that is marked by a T post, between the single-family houses of the surrounding community. The street, Valley Road dead ends in the cliff side half a block from the station. Google (and the MBTA's website) claim this is where the stop is but they are incorrect.
