Waban is a 'D' Line suburban station and has two concrete side platforms with just a yellow line and no accessible boarding features. The only platform amenities are on the inbound platform just the recently installed Charlie enclosure for the TVMs. All access is through a small 74 space parking lot (weekday availability less than 1%) along the outbound platform that ends in a concrete wall of the platform that looks out of place. Access to this parking lot is from Wymann Street and there is also a pedestrian staircase down to the parking lot basically right at the front of the outbound platform down from Beacon Street that crosses the tracks on an overpass just outbound of the station.

The parking lot of the station is right along the outbound platform, just a low concrete wall prevents cars from driving onto the tracks
