Far Rockaway

Far Rockaway is the terminus of the LIRR Far Rockaway Line which is electrified. The station is located back in Queens on the beginning of the Rockaway Peninsula. The station is 3 blocks away form the Far Rockaway-Mott Avenue A Subway Station. The station has one long, narrow terminal island platform; the half of the platform closed to the exit has a canopy. At the end of the platform where the tracks end at grade level their is a small concrete station house with restrooms and a closed ticket office. There is one TVM located in a kiosk outside the station house. A unusual aspect of the station is the platform has no station name signs. The only sign saying "Far Rockaway" is on the station house.
