<-Next stop Tonnelle Avenue bergenline Avenue (Hudson-Bergen Light Rail) Next stop Port Imperial Ferry->

Bergenline Avenue station is located in the middle of the Weehawken Tunnel, in the very busy city of Union City. Planners believe it will be one of the busiest stations on the system. The underground station is nothing like any other in the tri-state area, the station has one island platform and is 150 feet below the surface. Very high speed elevators wisk people to and from the suface in a matter of 7 seconds. I wish the elevators at 181st were this fast. The design isn't the subway flourescent lighting, but less heavy more inderect lighting on the wide island platform that is split in a number of places. The overall feel is something feeling cavernous and darker, it reminded me of the Washington Metro.
