Clinton is the first stop on the Green and Pink Lines after they leave the loop. Just east of the station trains cross over the tracks that make up the Ogilvie Transportation Center, the downtown terminus of the 3 Metra Union Pacific Lines (the former Chicago and Northwester Lines and terminals) with 16 tracks. The closest entrance is one and a half blocks away via the Washington/Randolph concourse. The stop has two side platforms and the Loop-bound platform has a sign at the front of it saying Pink Line: "Change Destination Signs." The station entrance is located in a glass enclosed entrance area beneath the two platforms, above the intersection of Clinton and Lake. There is a covered streetstair at the SW corner of Clinton and Lake, an up escalator and street elevator at the SE corner. These lead to the turnstiles in a glass walled and airy mezzanine. There is another street stair that leads down to a high exit turnstile right on the sidewalk at the NW corner. Getting up to the platforms is where the station gets interesting and unique. There is a single staircase up to each towards the eastern end of the platforms or a long gradually climbing, ADA compliant enclosed (with glass walls) ramp. The ramps take about three-quarters of the length of the 8 car platforms to finally reach them. The platforms themselves have full canopies along both platforms and a combination of glass walls over the main entrance to the platform towards its eastern end and simple white and green fencing otherwise.
