Passengers get off of the just arriving California Zephyr, the scene with the little carts for red caps is quite distinctively Union Station
Passing the baggage car of a different train
Walking by the locomotives as a red cap zooms by
A line of passengers walks down to board their train
All the locomotive break lights close to the center of the station
Some daylight can be seen whisking in off of the Chicago River, Union Station is at ground level with buildings built on the air rights above
The line of the south bumper blocks
The arrivals area (where departing passengers are whisked through from the lounges), the redcap carts are a typical site
Metra tracks and the electronic next train displays
On the main corridor that loops to all the platform entrances (Amtrak has clear fences where they become exit only for arriving passengers )
The baggage claim looks like that at a typical airport except a desk at the exit requires you to show your claim check
The doors that lead from the actual ticketing area to the grand hall and a few more shops
The tiled floor of the new Amtrak concourse area near the tracks says 1991 in commemoration of when the station was restored.
The entrance to the Amtrak concourse from the main lobby and barely used waiting area
The Quick-Trak machines with signs about how ticket sales end ten minutes, and gates close five minutes prior to a train's departure
Stepping off the Lake Shore Limited with some private varnish Pullman cars at the front of the train (they came from Boston)
P42 #107 has led the just arrived Lake Shore Limited into Chicago
The Chicago Union Station Madison Street entrance to the North tracks
Outside the Metra Union Station Madison Street Entrance
Inside the train hall looking down the ramp under Canal Street to trains
