Niagara Falls, ON Niagara Falls, ON is a fully staffed VIA rail station with a small brick station building. It is served by two Corridor trains a day to Toronto (three in summer) and one to New York (that becomes Amtrak's Maple Leaf at the station). It is the site of Customs checks on the Maple Leaf and signs in the station say passengers can't board the Maple Leaf to get to Toronto until after it has undergone its customs check. The station is about half a block from the Whirlpool Bridge (crossing only permitted if all occupants of car have NEXUS pass) and the Maple Leaf uses the bridge to cross over to New York State as well. It is about 2 miles from the Falls and about two blocks from downtown Niagara Falls, ON, actually near civilization unlike the Niagara Falls, NY Station that is completely away from everything.
