| Montreal-Gare Centrale/Central Station is the main VIA rail terminal in Montreal, as well as one of two AMT Commuter rail terminals in Montreal. It also is serviced by Amtrak's Adirondack (that unlike the Maple Leaf uses Amtrak's crews the entire trip). The VIA trains that originate/terminate in Montreal are The Ocean to Halifax (dialy except Tuesday), the Saguenay to Jonquiere (Triweekly), the Chaleur to Gaspe (Triweekly), the Abitibi to Weymont (Triweekly) and Corridor Services to Ottawa (6 per day), Toronto (6 per day), and Quebec City/Charney (4 trains per day) |

Trains tracks are listed way in advance and trains board a half-hour before departure. | 11 July, 2008 (montreal3) The special ticket counter that handles tickets for the Adirondack, the daily train to New York City, operated by Amtrak. It is staffed by a VIA rail employee with a Canadian flag in front of it and a 10 year old Amtrak sign saying the counter hours in 24 hour time, which VIA uses. | 11 July, 2008 (montreal4) Little podiums are brought out when the Ocean and Chaleur are boarding for sleeping car passengers. | (montreal9) A view of the departures and arrivals board at Montreal on a Monday morning. The Ocean from Halifax less than an hour late, I would consider that on-time if I was on Amtrak. 14 July, 2008 (montreal10) Next to the entrance to each track panels are switched out for each train departure including the time. The panel for Amtrak's Adirondack is quite old school and doesn't include all of the station stops. | 14 July, 2008 |
