Spring Street Station opened on May 12, 1989 and was the northern terminus of this branch for about a month. The station has two elevated side platforms built into a hillside. A rarity at trolley stations, these have ballast over most of the area between them with two pedestrian crossings in the middle of them. The Gillispe Field-bound platform houses the stations only brown, large canopy structure and a staircase and ramp leads down about twenty feet to a 324 space park and ride lot with a bus loop just below the station. The bare downtown-bound platform has a sidewalk up to serve the suburban houses north of the station (including Howard Gilmore Terrace) to the corner of High Street and Valley View Circle.
