Hollywood/Western Station opened on June 12, 1999 and has a single entrance inside the plaza in front of its transit village at the SE corner Hollywood Blvd and Western Avenue. Here two escalators and a staircase lead down an intermediate landing before continuing to the main short corridor which leads to the station's turnstiles. Just before it there is a single street elevator that has its own enclosure and location a short was down Hollywood Blvd from the corner and staircase entrance. The stations turnstiles lead to an elevator and two sets of staircase/single escalators down to the middle of an island platform. The walls of the columns in the middle of the platform and the mezzanines are all covered in a checkerboard of different light colored tiles. These are all part of Untitled by May Sun. There are also photographs inside the mezzanine of the history of the station's location. Along the walls of the mezzanine facing one of the staircases down to the platform are replicas of the ends of the Red Line Streetcars that formerly served the station.
